Another hour of Halo down, two more to go.
Last week focused entirely on Master Chief (Pablo Schreiber) and his idiotic journey of the soul. At the time, I said it was terrible but at least completely devoid of Kwan Ha (Yerin Ha), the boring young woman leading a rebellion on a backwater planet about which no one cares. This week’s episode feels like a cruel joke on me, given that Inheritance is all about Kwan and ex-SPARTAN-turned-pirate Soren (Bokeem Woodbine), who promised Master Chief he would protect Kwan no matter how annoying she is. She is very annoying. So is Soren.
All of this portion of the show is incredibly stupid. I hate watching it and I actually hate writing about it even more. There was no reason to turn a Halo show into 50% Master Chief crying and 50% generic
“poors against fascists” rebellion nonsense. Not even a weird desert hallucination ritual that reveals Kwan is destined to protect a portal to Halo makes any of this feel relevant or interesting to the main plot of this show. God, what a fucking waste of my time.
See you next week.
